Ready, Fire, Aim!
Ready, Fire, Aim! This is a common entrepreneurial mistake made in regards to marketing.
Arguably, the most effective military leader of the second World War, "Old Blood & Guts", four star General George S. Patton was correct in that "A good plan violently executed now is better than a perfect plan executed next week.”, BUT, I’m certain he had a very solid plan for "today’s battle”.
Many times we see clients in a panic or so hell bent for action, they actually create additional problems, don't achieve their goals and waste time, money and resources. This is also where the old adage of “never time to do it right but always time to do it again” comes in to play.
Taking the time to plan out marketing strategy, campaigns, launches, etc. and investing the energy to properly and realistically identify your goals is many times at least half the work. It is definitely an essential step to avoid creating unforeseen problems. A cautious but aggressive Ready, Aim, Fire mentality is also the way to avoid brand confusion, blowing money and will give you the best chance to actually hit your target.
We take ownership in our clients businesses and goals and can offer the objective perspective that is many times out of focus to the owners/managers as they don’t see the forest for the trees. It’s completely normal for principals to struggle with perspective as they are so close and emotive to the pressure points of the business.
Shoulder to shoulder and eye on the prize, that’s how we work.
